I was born and raised in Aurora, and my husband and I are now raising our two young daughters right here in Ward 1.
I am an active community volunteer—I chair the Board of the Aurora Public Library, sit on the executive committee for the Town Park Community Association, and organize and promote popular community events.
I have spent my 15+ year career working in Ontario’s Public Service, including 4 years leading strategic planning for Ontario’s Auditor General, so I know how to deliver more government accountability and efficiency.
Above all, I care about engaging residents in Aurora and helping to keep them informed about what’s happening in the town. That’s why I launched @HelloLaurenHanna and my popular Aurora Weekly Activity Roundups sharing updates on what’s new in Aurora, and profiling local events, businesses and programs that make Aurora so special.
Why am I running?
I want all residents in Aurora to be engaged, included and confident our government is accountable. Above all, it’s time for some new, collaborative and fresh perspectives on Council. Check out My Priorities for more detail.
